No Tricks at "TRICKS Resto Korean BBQ Antipolo"

Bubbly Hubby was able to close another business deal! What an opportunity to take a breather from the daily grind and celebrate! We took the car and leisurely drove to find a new hole in the wall. That's when we found TRICK'S

The place is almost JUST in front of Ynares Center Antipolo at the Citia Okinari Arcade – L. Sumulong Memorial Circle (formerly Circumferential Road near Ynares Center, in front of GIANTS), Brgy. San Roque, Antipolo City, 1870 Antipolo, Philippines

TRICK'S is a quaint restaurant offering a taste of Asia. In a glance, it looks like a Korean restaurant because of the prominence of the Korean barbecue grills on top of their tables.

But if yo'll pay some attention in the background, you'll notice the Filipino decoration evident in those capiz windows near the counter. Those lanterns must be symbolising another Asian culture as well. It's a little bit of Asian culture, small things peppered around here and there.

When you open the door, you will see a life-size hanbok, a Korean traditional dress for women near one of the tables. I must admit that it was my first time for me to see one in real life.
We sat down there since we really went there for our Korean barbecue cravings. We are usual patrons of Donday Antipolo. So we thought it was time to make rounds and gave this new establishment a try.
The place was cozy and the staff was quite nice and engaging.  We ordered samngeopsal for 250 pesos and it came along with 3 kinds of Korean side dishes or panchan. It was all so good!

But we had to admit that the panchan was not enough for the two of us - 'bitin'! There was also no refill like the usual tradition in Korean restaurants.  But it's okay naman.  If one wants more, they can easily order with pay.
We also crossed our fingers for the pad thai which also turned out to be good. I can not really comment on it a lot because it was my first time to eat pad thai. Surprisingly, I can say that it tasted okay for me even if it was my first time. I guess I'm just not used to it even if it's a famous Vietnamese dish.
Which brings me to this! I remember that they actually have combo meals to choose from! You don't always have to eat Korean or order big time for the grill.
This is an Asian themed resto, so there's a lot of treats to choose from. There's a small post under the clock of food combos where we got the idea to order pad thai and one ice tea for 160 pesos.
There's a trick to tickling any customer's palate to make them come back for more. TRICK'S Resto Korean Barbeque Antipolo just might have had that in mind when coming up with a new name for an Asian oriented restaurant.
Besides, maybe her nickname is Tricks too! Well, there's a post on the wall and Jerico Rosales visited the place and seemed happy to pose with the staff. The food was good, yes Echo?

As I was saying, there no tricks at Trick's restaurant. They offer honest to goodness, budget friendly Asian cuisine on a daily budget. It's a good place for any 500-peso budget date as well.

But like I said, I just wish their servings of panchan are a bit bigger. Also, even if their service was fast, I just hoped that the grills were prepared in unison so that when the samngeopsal comes along, the grill's ready for the meat to sizzle just in time.  That sound alone will invite the palate and add a mouth watering anticipation to a good meal.

As for the ultimate question? Yes, we are going to be return customers. After all, the meticulous Bubbly Hubby enjoyed his stay as well. This is a great place to spend you and your OFW loved ones holiday this festive season. -
